Over the past 37 days, the online repertoire, ranging from dance dramas, operas and acrobatics to symphonies and variety shows, has received 36 million views and wide applause.
Brilliant performances included the award-winning drama Babusha Forest Farm, which tells of generations of efforts made by Gansu villagers to fight sandstorms, and the traditional Gansu Opera King Yu combating the flood, which present the story of the founder of the Xia Dynasty (c.21st century-16th century BC), Da Yu, who is said to have tamed the floods of the mighty Yellow River, saving people from untold misery.
The event was sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
