Ten-year-old Liu Qianmiao, a young guide, recently explored Pingliang Road in Lanzhou with Zamula Aleksandra, an international student from Georgia studying at Lanzhou University.
In recent days, the foot of the Qilian Mountains in Minle county, Gansu province, has been blessed with rainfall and, at the highest elevations, snow, adorning the peaks with a glistening silver coat.
Jiayu Pass, also called “China's No. 1 Pass”, is located in the middle of the narrowest valley which is six kilometers to the southwest of Jiayuguan city in Northwest China’s Gansu province.
This is a place where sand mountains co-exist with spring water. The Singing Sand Mountains are so named because their sands make sounds as they move.
