The Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) in Lanzhou, Northwest China's Gansu province, launched its 19th Public Science Day on Saturday, both online and offline.

It was amazing to see the turnout of nearly 1,800 people from all walks of life, all eager to learn and explore the wonders of science.

Liu Weimin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences who works at the LICP, gave a report entitled "High-performance lubricant materials support the construction of a powerful country".

During the trip to the State's key laboratories, visitors had close contact with high-precision equipment and interacted face-to-face with scientific researchers. It was a great chance to learn about the various scientific and technological achievements made in the city.

The much-anticipated activities, including online science popularization courses, puzzle challenges featuring chemical laboratories, and scientific and technology exhibition also saw lots of participation.
