The 6th China Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo will open in Dunhuang, Gansu province, from Sept 6 to 7.
The much-anticipated expo features different activities including forums, cultural exhibitions, artistic performances, investment promotion meeting and Silk Road tourism experience activities.

After the opening ceremony, 13 forums will be held, with topics including the inheritance of Silk Road culture, academic efforts in Dunhuang studies, the innovation and development of Dunhuang dance, dialog with ancient civilizations, the promotion of smart broadcasting and television, and international youth culture.
Nine themed cultural exhibitions will run from Sept 6 to 9. The special exhibition of the guest country will display the culture, art, traditional craftsmanship, and local customs of Turkmenistan, while the exhibition of the guest province will showcase Xinjiang's Silk Road culture, specialty products, tourism resources, and intangible cultural heritage creations.
In addition, visitors can enjoy exhibitions of children's painting, Gandhara art from Pakistan, Dunhuang cultural-themed exhibitions, Silk Road paintings, and ancient jiandu, bamboo or wooden slips used for writing documents.
The musical drama, ethnic music concert, and "A date with Dunhuang" artistic performances are also worth the wait.
This year's expo will launch an investment promotion section, including an investment conference, exhibition and sales activities for cultural and creative product and tourism equipment.
Renowned entrepreneurs, financiers, and travel merchants will be invited to promote the favorable policies for government-enterprise cooperation along the Belt and Road, in a bid to create a favorable environment for friendly business, profitable business, and secure business.
Participants will have the chance to explore the Mogao Grottoes and the Mingsha Mountain-Crescent Spring scenic area during the event.
