A group of foreign diplomats in China, who started their "2023 Discover the Beauty of China" Gansu Tour in Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China's Gansu province two days ago, will participate in the 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo on Sept 6.

The guests, who are from Thailand, North Korea, Tunisia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Dominican Republic and Kazakhstan, are expected to view magnificent attractions in the cities of Zhangye, Jiayuguan and Jiuquan and engage in traditional culture along the Silk Road.

In previous trips, they spent time at the Gansu Provincial Museum, the Waterwheel Expo Park, and Zhongshan Bridge in Lanzhou. They also took a boat tour on the Yellow River at night and tasted local specialties such as Lanzhou beef noodles.

The "2023 Discover the Beauty of China" series is a cross-cultural activity initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which was launched on March 21 in Beijing. Diplomats will visit the autonomous regions of Guangxi and Xinjiang, provinces of Henan, Hebei, Gansu, Fujian, Zhejiang and Hainan, to experience the country's charm. Since its first edition in 2021, this event has already attracted more than 140 diplomats from over 68 countries.
