The National Art Museum of China has reached out to its counterparts nationwide to collaborate on well-curated exhibitions in recent years to celebrate aesthetic traditions and cultural lineage passed down through the centuries.

The museum has mounted shows titled Ink Splendor and Cultural Context from its collections and those of other museums, such as the Palace Museum and Nanjing Museum of Jiangsu province. Most of the works on display are classic Chinese paintings and calligraphy.

The newly opened installment of this exhibition has added new dimensions to the display, with artifacts from Dunhuang Academy, the Gansu Provincial Museum and Gansu Jian Du Museum in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu province.
