Zhongchuan town in the Lanzhou New Area — located in Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China's Gansu province — is currently in the midst of a golden harvest in the late summer.
Along the north expressway, some 5,550 mu (370 hectares) of sunflower fields now glow brilliantly under the sun, while 490 hectares of nearby wheat fields sway gracefully with their heavy ears. Between them, the two golden seas create a breathtaking harvest panorama.
In recent years, Zhongchuan town has optimized its agricultural structure by developing specialized planting bases, achieving both quality and yield improvements.
The area's abundant sunshine and significant day-night temperature differences provide ideal conditions for sunflowers, with an expected yield of 300 kilograms per mu. Moreover, the blooming fields — lasting until mid-September — have become a popular tourist attraction, boosting local agritourism.
