Established in 1950, Gansu Provincial Hospital is a major comprehensive Grade A tertiary hospital operating directly under the People's Government of Gansu Province. It integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, preventive health care, and rehabilitation into one institution. The hospital operates three campuses: the main facility, a west branch, and the Lanzhou New District branch, with a total approved capacity of 3,650 beds, of which 3,389 are currently operational. It employs 3,775 staff members, including 653 senior technical professionals.

The hospital is equipped with a wide range of internationally advanced medical devices, including the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, Edge Radiosurgery System, intraoperative radiotherapy equipment, orthopedic surgical robots, PET/CT, 3.0T MRI, and spectral CT, among others. Other facilities include laminar flow operating rooms, a modern central sterile supply department, and advanced ICUs.
