The 2026 Spring Festival holiday, which lasted from Feb 15 to 23, has concluded. During that period, the China Railway Lanzhou Group handled a total of 2.34 million passenger trips, averaging 260,000 trips per day. Feb 23 marked the peak return travel day, with 405,000 passenger trips — a new single-day record for the Spring Festival holiday period.
Several stations under the bureau achieved record-high single-day passenger volumes during the holiday. Yinchuan Station handled 63,900 trips on Feb 23, while Wuweidong Station handled 11,400 trips on the same day, and Qin'an Station 13,100 trips on Feb 22.
The China Railway Lanzhou Group leveraged big data to analyze passenger flow trends and optimize train operations. Multiple unit train services from Lanzhou to popular destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou were operated in coupled formations. Peak-service multiple unit trains were added on routes from Lanzhou to Xi'an, Wuwei, Tianshui, and Longnan.
Major stations increased the number of manual ticketing windows, ticket change and refund counters, and self-service verification channels. Entry and exit passageways were dynamically adjusted to ensure orderly passenger flow. Additional staff were deployed in waiting halls, platforms, and transfer areas to facilitate smooth movement. New services including high-speed rail pet delivery were promoted, with dedicated staff available to help passengers complete necessary procedures.
