The Ancient Moyun Pass, nowadays known as Guanshan Peak, is located in the southeastern area of A'gan township. Historically, as it was the only road between Lintao and Jincheng, local officials of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) set up an inspection point to supervise the flow of travelers and goods. The road has been widely viewed as a section of the ancient Silk Road.

The record of the road, which connects Lanzhou with Lintao, Gannan and Tianshui in Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces, can be found in several literary documents.

For instance, Chen Shou (233-297) said in his Records of the Three Kingdoms that an army from Jincheng passed through A'gan on its path to rescue Lintao, which was under military siege by Jiang Wei, a Major General of the Shu Kingdom (221-263) built by warlord Liu Bei during the Three Kingdoms period (220-280).

It is also believed that Master Xuanzang (602-664) of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) passed through the road during his journey to ancient India in search of Buddhist sutras.

Prominent poets such as Gao Shi (704—765) and Cen Shen (718-769) also wrote poems to depict the scenes on the road.

There is still an ancient street that was used by people of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing  (1636-1912) dynasties in the village of Guanshan Peak. The remains of ancient passes and beacon towers can still be found there.
