The third national cultural relics census took place between April 2004 and December 2009, and the statue "Yellow River — The Mother" was identified as an important newly-discovered cultural relic. The statue is an incredibly beautiful sculpture depicting the Yellow River as the mother of the Chinese nation, and has high artistic value.
With the long-standing reputation of the statue, the tourist area can no longer meet the needs of tourism, and the planning of a cultural park has emerged.
On the basis of Xiaoxihu Park, and supported by the statue "Yellow River — The Mother", an intelligent, circular, ecological and green new cultural square will be built, in the hopes of creating a new space for citizens to experience Lanzhou's culture. The space will greatly enhance the cultural image of the city and transform Lanzhou into a shining pearl of the Yellow River Basin once again.
