A railway linking Yinchuan and Lanzhou, major cities in Northwest and Southwest China, will be fully operational with the opening of its last section at the end of the year.

Five stations: Beitan, Pingchuan West, Jingyuan North, Baiyin South, and Qinwangchuan were built along the Zhonglan section of the line. Passengers are expected to enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful Yellow River.

The railway can traverse various mountains and rivers under extremely low temperatures, and will shorten the running time of the Zhongwei-Lanzhou train from five hours to around one hour.

Once in operation, the high-speed railway provide a new driving force in local cultural, agricultural tourism and other industries. Special products, such as Beitan jujubes, Jingyuan goji berries, and Jingyuan lamb will be sold all over the country as a result of the train line, helping the local economy enter a period of rapid growth.
