Officials from Qilihe district, Lanzhou, Gansu province have conducted health inspections at local schools since Feb 17. As of now, they have visited four junior high schools, 32 primary schools, 30 kindergartens, and two colleges and universities.

The supervisors have checked the ventilation and disinfection conditions of public areas, such as toilets and dormitories, student dining and out-going arrangements, as well as health monitoring and training for teachers and students.

They are concerned about whether or not the schools have established health observation rooms and stored enough infectious disease prevention materials.

In view of the problems of inadequate emergency plans and incomplete certificates for disinfectants, the supervisors advised the school leaders to address their concerns.
